Driving Directions:

The destination is worth the drive -
it is incredibly beautiful and affordable!

From Eastbound US Hwy 50 (coming from Sacramento) - go through Placerville on US Hwy 50 crossing over Canal, Spring (also known as Hwy 49) and Bedford streets…turn RIGHT at the Broadway exit, turn R again on to Broadway, turn R once more - traveling under Hwy 50 - follow around (it will feel like you are getting on to the Hwy again but turn LEFT on to Mosquito Road - follow to the first stop sign at Dimity -turn LEFT on to Mosquito Road - follow about 2 ½ miles to a LEFT on Mosquito again (if you go straight the road turns in to Union Ridge Road which will lead you to Apple Hill) follow Mosquito another 3 miles, staying on your side of the road - use your lower gears on the steeper grades - even in an automatic so that you don’t smoke your brakes - there are adequate pull out spots every ¼ mile so if a local is tail gating you pull over…. Travel across the historic swinging bridge - take a moment to enjoy the sounds of the American River. Go up the mountain, navigating the 4 switch backs - take them wide and with a little speed so … don’t be too afraid - over 1,500 trips a day are made on this road! From the bridge the heart of the community is about 3 miles (so, all in all about 9 miles from downtown Placerville/US Hwy 50)…the first time you travel our rural road you will be awestruck - the second time you will be amazed at how it feels closer and the third time you will be a local!

Cell phone service is not possible after Union Ridge Road and until you get to the Swansboro Airport - Call Sally at 530-306-0821 with any questions.
